Patio Weather

Spring is here and it is time to update those patios.  See how and why we changed this

to this....

Our client wished to see the Houston skyline while sitting down on his amazing rooftop patio, so the first thing we did was raise the floor by using Ipe deck tiles.  Not only did it help with his requirement but the wood deck tiles brought warmth to an otherwise basic concrete floor.

As we have grown,  Shellie and I felt it was time for our company to grow and change as well.  Lyrd Interiors will still have our same style and eye of curated spaces, just a new name and a new look.

#ONE

Hygge (hoo-ga)

This Danish concept has been making its way in the states and it’s definitely a lifestyle concept we should all embrace for the new year.

Hygge doesn’t directly translate in English but it’s the feeling of coziness.  It’s having a cup of coffee in a cute cafe with good conversation.  It’s about contentment, comfort, and connection, creating a sanctuary in everyday life.

Long gone are the days of all white kitchens (besides who wants to have to clean those anyways).

And cabinetry in varying shades of blues and greens.

We just love these eclectic kitchens!

12 DAYS OF TRENDS- a countdown of interior trends to expect in 2018

#SEVEN & #SIX

These two trends seem to fit with the holiday spirit.

Trend 7 comes straight for fall fashion runways and is all about tonal reds.  The trick to this trend is to mix tones that don’t clash but don’t match perfectly either.

Also try mixing patterns and details for a balanced look.

Trend 6 may have been last years color of the year but it is not going anywhere for 2018.  Green can be so energizing whether it’s used as color or by bringing in actual greenery.
